The Ingraham family consists of Steve, Carol, and our five girls (Sarah: 19, Emily: 17, Anna: 14, Erin: 13, and Kelia: 11). (Sarah, if you are counting, is not in the photo above. She is living in Bar Harbor this winter, but her biography is here: Sarah) We have a dog, a Cairn Terrier, who we call Ginger. We live in Kennebunk, Maine, two miles from the ocean. Before Maine we lived for 12 years on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. Steve is a writer, photographer, and the Birding and Naturalist Product Specialist for Carl Zeiss Sports Optics in North America—a professional shedder of light in a variety of ways. He travels all over the country (world) attending birding festivals and conventions, speaking, giving workshops, and advising Zeiss on optics for birding and the birding market. You can find his writing and photography in the pages of several birding magazines and here at lightshedder.com. For his digiscoped photos of birds (mostly) visit lightshedder.com/digiscoping. The second edition of Y'shua, an unfinished life, was published by lightshedder press this year, and his book about birds, birding, and birders, The Kingfisher, is also out. (see lightshedder.com/press) Carol is a full time homemaker, musician, crafts person, gardener, and master teacher. All of us are involved in homemade music: piano, celtic harp, cello, violin, flute, bodhran and hand drums, etc. Carol and Emily teach music (piano, piano and violin). We enjoy reading, birding, mountain biking, hiking, camping, and Xcountry skiing. We learn at home (which some call home schooling).
We are Christians, active in a local community church, though some might find us somewhat unconventional in our views. We are alive in Christ, and eager to see and affirm any expression of the creative spirit of God our Father.
